Reader Review — The Absence
I was drawn to this book because of the cover art and the title. I had zero information when I started, and that is the best way to read this. This story can fit into many categories, but for me, it was dystopian, mixed with weird fiction and some hard sci-fi thrown in. The concept is engaging, and it makes you want to understand.
The writing style from start to finish is great with some subtle things thrown in along the way, enhancing the reading experience immensely. It was very hard not to finish in one sitting. It’s as if you assumed this “story” was made up of 10 sections, you only get sections 3 through 7, there is information you desperately want in the beginning and in the aftermath.
I hope the author has plans for more books in this series. I really liked this, and yet I can’t fully explain every reason why; sometimes a story simply resonates with you on an unspeakable level. Excellent book.
